As youth-serving organizations navigate changing community needs, shifting participation trends, and increasing competition for young people's time, remaining relevant requires more than engaging youth and families—it requires the capacity to continually learn with them. Yet many programs struggle to consistently translate community knowledge into decisions that strengthen programs and sustain change. Why do some community-informed ideas gain momentum while others stall? Drawing on findings from a three-year co-design initiative, this interactive session explores five organizational conditions that emerged from the research and influenced how community knowledge moved from engagement to action. Participants will examine real-world examples, reflect on how knowledge flows within their own programs, and identify practical opportunities to strengthen organizational learning, decision-making, and the long-term sustainability of their programs.
