About the Summit
The Indiana Summit on Out-of-School Learning brings together the people shaping out-of-school time across Indiana. Youth program providers, educators, community partners, and advocates come together to exchange ideas, discover practical strategies, and build stronger learning experiences for young people. Join hundreds of OST professionals for two days of learning, connection, and inspiration designed to strengthen programs and move the field forward.
Keynote speaker
Brittany Richmond
Brittany Richmond is a speaker, author, and self-described aspiring ’80s rockstar who helps young people and the adults who support them build stronger connections through meaningful conversation. In her keynote, Every Conversation Counts: Building Belonging and Connection Through the Tell Me More Method™, Brittany will blend research, storytelling, humor, audience participation, and a little ’80s nostalgia to create an engaging experience focused on one simple but powerful idea: helping people feel seen, heard, and valued.
For out-of-school time professionals, that message has immediate relevance. Whether conversations happen during snack, on the bus, in a hallway, or while working side by side on an activity, everyday interactions can build trust, strengthen communication, support literacy, and create a greater sense of belonging. Attendees will leave with practical tools they can use right away with young people, colleagues, and others in their lives.
