Melissa Abernathy is the Executive Director of the Literacy Institute at Marian University Center for Vibrant Schools. A dedicated educator since 2006, Melissa began her career as a classroom teacher before transitioning into school leadership. She holds a Master of Science in Reading Science, grounding her work in evidence-based instructional practices. Melissa is a past president of The Reading League Indiana and has been a key supporter of the Indiana Literacy Cadre, championing statewide efforts to elevate literacy outcomes for all students.
